Breast reduction requires an “anchor” incision (also known as an inverted-T incision) that runs around the nipple/areolar complex and extends straight down from the six o’clock position until it meets the inframammary fold. The incision then extends laterally along the inframammary fold. Through these incisions, excess glandular tissue and skin can be removed. The remaining tissues and skin are redistributed and reshaped.
