Training And Experience
The most important factors to evaluate when selecting your surgeon are training and experience. You should choose a surgeon who has graduated from a recognized medical school, completed one or more specialized residencies, and performed a large number of plastic surgery procedures. In addition, you should ask your prospective surgeon whether he or she has been board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. Board certification is an important benchmark because it requires passing of several stringent exams and a thorough evaluation of the surgeon’s professional record.
